The first-ever NBA Finals win for the Cavaliers franchise was another down-to-the-wire dogfight. Of course, the big dog, LeBron James added another triple double, making him second all-time in Finals history behind Magic Johnson.
But it’s often a little dog who comes up big. In this case, the terrier who tore things up the most was Matthew Dellavedova, subbing in for injured Kyrie Irving. Delly kept MVP Steph Curry frustrated all night, as the Cavs evened the series in OT. Home court advantage is now in Cleveland’s favor, with potentially three of the next five slated to be played in the 216.
Our view: After game 1, we said “Would have been more fun had they won.” We were so right.
